RATINGS ANALYSIS MARCH 31 2021

Junior heavyweight:

  • Lebo Mashitoa lost to Luvuyo Sizani, but cannot drop below Keaton Gomes who he has twice beaten

Middleweight:

  • Andile Mntungwa moves to super middle where he has been active, winning the WBF All Africa title

Junior middleweight:

  • Shervontaigh Koopman moves up to no 5 after a good win over Junior Makondo
  • Junior Makondo drops to no 7 after his loss to Shervontaigh Koopman

Welterweight:

  • Lybon Ntshani enters at no 6 after winning the Gauteng title

Junior welterweight:

  • Prince Dlomo won the South African title
  • Xolani Mcotheli drops to no 2 as he cannot drop below Marcus Lebogo who he has already beaten
  • Xolani Mgidi enters at no 5 after beating Siya Mabena
  • Siya Mabena drops to no 6 after losing to Mgidi
  • Xolisani Ndongeni enters at no 3, ahead of Marcus Lebogo who lost his last fight

Lightweight:

  • Sanele Msimang enters at no 2 after a tko win over Ripfumelo Chikwambane
  • Ripfumelo Chikwambane drops to no 5 after his loss  
  • Xolisani Ndongeni has advised that he is moving to junior welterweight. Khaya Busakwe, the Gauteng champion, takes over the no 1 lightweight position.

Junior lightweight:

  • Siphesihle Mntungwa moves to lightweight where he has been active, boxing a draw for the WBF All Africa lightweight title
  • Lunga Stimela drops to no 4 after his loss in Russia
  • Koos Sibiya drops to no 5 after his loss in Russia

Featherweight:

The Ratings Committee have agreed, after studying the records of all the featherweights rated, to reshuffle the ratings as follows:

  • Asanga Gingqi moves to no 4 after winning all 7 of his contests, including a win over Thatho Bonokoane who recently fought a draw for the junior featherweight title
  • Jeff Magagane drops to no 6 after losing his last 2 contests
  • Mfusi Maxhayi drops to no 7 after losing his last 2 contests
  • As a result, Toto Helebe moves up to no 5

Junior bantam

  • Ricardo Malajika drops to no 7 after a loss to SA champion Sabelo Ngebinyane. The reason he does not drop further is that he has already beaten Mnqobi Mkhize

Flyweight:

  • Mpho Seforo enters at no 2 after a good stoppage win over Mogale Molef
  • Mogale Molefe drops to no 5 after losing to Mpho Seforo

Mini flyweight:

  • Siphelele Myeza enters at no 9 with a record of 7: 7 (0)
