Appointment Of Audit & Risk Committee Members

Applications are hereby invited for the independent, suitably qualified and experienced professionals to serve as members of the Audit Committee of Boxing South Africa.

Audit Committee Members are appointed in their personal capacities as members of the committee in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and not as employees.

Requirements: applicants must be in a possession of a graduate qualification in Accounting, Internal Auditing, Risk Management, Information Communication Technology, and Law. Possession of a CA(SA), CIA, CISA, CFE qualification will be added advantage.

Excellent communication skill (verbal and written), extensive leadership and experience in serving on an Audit Committee, preference will be given to applicants who are serving as professionals in other government departments, public entities, private sector, academic institutions or as retired professionals. Applicants may not be in the employment of Boxing SA and must have no business or personal relationships with Boxing SA. Knowledge of the PFMA and its Treasury Regulations and other relevant legislation/policies, i.e. GRAP.

Key outputs: The Audit & Risk Committee will carry out its responsibilities as legislated by the PFMA and Treasury Regulations and operate according to its approved charter. The roles and responsibilities are clearly defined in the approved charter. The Audit & Risk Committee will fulfil its oversight responsibilities to ensure that the entity maintains effective, efficient and transparent system of financial, risk management, governance and internal control. The Committee will review the effectiveness of the Internal Audit activity and provide direction; the work of external auditors and the entities financial statements. The Audit Committee will also ensure compliance with legislation and assist the CEO in the effective execution of his/her responsibilities by reporting and making recommendations to the Board.

Term: the term of office is three (3) years. Members will be remunerated for preparation for and attendance of meetings, and remuneration will be in accordance with the rates (tariffs) provided by National Treasury, which are issued from time to time.
